Ink

I regard working in ink as one of the ultimate combinations of expressive work and drawing skill. It preferably requires working quickly and offers few opportunities for correction. Every line, stroke, and decision is therefore more or less final; any errors must be dealt with immediately. Moreover, I prefer working with non-standard drawing materials, particularly twigs, feathers, and other “found” tools, which further limits control over how the ink flows.

People and animals in motion, or conversely a characteristic moment of stillness, are frequently recurring themes in these fleeting works.
